Michael joined the British Army aged 16, serving nearly 6 years with the Royal Engineers. During his service, Michael spent time in Iraq during the conflict at the beginning of 2003, and then again at the end of the year.

After returning to civilian life, Michael spent a further 9 years in the Fire Service.

Michael and Combat share a simple vision:

• Employ veterans, reservists and military spouses.

• Educate and assist children in conflict.

• Protect their clients.

• Support injured service personnel.
He is the author of War and Pest (From Basra to Bedbugs) and founder/host of the Declassified podcast (shortlisted for best interview podcast in the 2019 British Podcast Awards).
