Phoenix Sport & Media Group was founded in early 2016 by a very talented group of former footballers who enjoyed long and successful careers in the Premier League. Between them they have won the Champions League, FA Cup, Premier League and played for the England national football team. Many of our founders have also gone on to enjoy successful careers in the media, as football managers and as coaches.

They came together with their business advisors to create a business with an ethical purpose that utilised their experiences, values and networks to help the next generation and wider community. 

THE PAST  - WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Our founders know what it takes to succeed and to make it to the very top. They also know first hand the challenges and pitfalls that exist in building successful teams. They experienced these challenges themselves. 

These shared experiences led to the formation of Phoenix Sport & Media Group.

Our first venture was helping and supporting players deal with investments that had led to losses due to fraud or mis-selling. Our "investor rescue" service has made a real tangible difference to the lives of many sports stars and their families and we are using our knowledges and experiences to safeguard and protect the next generation of players through fraud and cybercrime awareness campaigns.

THE PRESENT-

WHERE WE ARE NOW

During the Covid 19 pandemic, we looked to expand our operations into new growth areas and became increasingly aware of both the threats and opportunities in the cyber security sector.

We launched a new digital academy- PSM Cyber Stars- a cyber security training and consultancy business with a vision of creating a pathway for sports stars into cyber security. The success of our initial programmes saw us expand quickly and offer our courses to veterans and inner city communities.

We also found that our services and programmes were sought after by corporate organisations and so we began offering training programmes, partnering with leading cyber security companies and lending our sporting expertise to help valuable research into cyber security in the sports sector.

Our team are now responsible for building this wonderful legacy. The world is changing. It's becoming increasingly digitalised and cyber attacks and fraud rates are increasing.

We believe we have built a company that will make a very positive difference to the world in a number of ways.

The UK is facing a chronic digital skills shortage. We intend to continue to inspire, train and engage exceptional diverse talent from sport and the armed forces and inner city communities to access new and exciting careers in the tech sector. Our ambition is to scale up and expand our programmes and.initiatives and help nations and organisations attract new and exciting talent.

We are also excited by the opportunity to work with some fantastic companies to share our experiences to up-skill their staff. We will continue to strive to prevent fraud and cybercrime and help support those in sport and beyond whose lives have been impacted by it.
